The New Summer Quarter Begins Next Sunday! Sign Up. We have a need for a Sunday teacher for 2 years thru kindergarten and a Wednesday 1-2nd grade teacher. These openings are listed in today's bulletin insert. Sign up at the Welcome Center. If you have any questions, see Dan Hagerman, Deacon of Education. He also has teacher materials.

May 26, Beechwood Hills Memorial Day Fair. A great family activity will be held on the campground of Beechwood Hills on Memorial Day, May 26, from 11am to 4pm. See the flyer in the hallway for details. Need Directions? Click here.

Help! We Need Canned Veggies Soon! Shults-Lewis Commodity Drive ends June 22. We are collecting donations of canned vegetables: corn, lima beans, green beans, carrots, peas, etc. Bring your canned goods and place them on the green rolling cart near the hall doorway.

Beechwood Hills Camp Commodity Drive. We are collecting drink mix such as Kook-Aide (sweetened) for three weeks of youth camp. That is about 540 quarts for 3 weeks of camp or 30 quarts a day (served at lunch and at dinner). We need to start collecting now! Camp is in July. Bring and place your donation on the pew in the foyer.

Beechwood Hills Camp Dates!

Junior Week - July 13-19 (grades 2 to 5)
Senior Week - July 20-26 (grades 9 to 12)
Intermediate Week - July 27-August 2 (grades 6 to 8)

Get your registration in soon! The total fee is $150 per week and includes a t-shirt, canteen, cabin photo, insurance, special classes, qualified Christian staff, food and cabin. A minimum deposit of $30.00 with registration is due by June 9, 2008. Registrations after June 9 are charged a $10 late fee. Registration forms are in our hallway on the floor near door #1. You may also complete registration online here.

Friday, June 6, Forever Young Group Luncheon. Put this date on the calendar - note that it is Friday, June 6th. A cookout and singing will be held at noon in our church building for all who are 50 years and up. Bring a dish to compliment the hamburgers and hotdogs. Sign up sheet is on the Family bulletin board in the hallway.

Looking for another Storm Team caller. We have a group of 4 women who notify the church membership when there is a weather crisis, need for urgent prayers, or a death in our church family. We need one more telephone caller. You must be available during the daytime to do your phone tree calls. See Dawn Jones if interested.

Deadline for your RSVP! Ben Waldrop and Becky Holden's wedding and reception is June 14. If you plan to attend the reception, the deadline for signing up is extended to Wednesday, May 28th. The family would like a count to secure the necessary space at the reception hall. Sign up sheet is at the Welcome Center.

Mission Appeal Letter. Melissa Robbins, Jack and Laura's daughter, will be involved in a mission campaign this summer as part of the Freed-Hardeman University Chorale. The group will be traveling to Great Britain to perform, and then working for two weeks conducting VBS, door knocking, handing out literature, and setting up Bible studies. If you wish to know more how to help sponsor her with financial support, her appeal letter is at the Welcome Center. Take a copy. We also request your prayers and encouragement in her effort to spread the gospel.

Teen News! Incoming!

June 22-25, Vacation Bible School! We are anticipating a great VBS this year with the teens and chaperones from Savannah, Tennessee. They plan to arrive on June 20 with set up on June 21. Interested in helping? See Curt Zondervan. More info soon.

VBS Housing Sign Up! We are privileged to host 25 young men, young women and adults coming from Savannah, Tennessee to put on our Vacation Bible School. We appreciate their willingness to serve our congregation and the children who will attend our VBS. The group plans to arrive Friday, June 20 and stay until Thursday, June 26. Housing is needed for these teens and their chaperones. Do you have a place for at least two young people in your home and are you able to provide breakfast each day? If so, please sign up at the Welcome Center. This is your opportunity to serve.

July 1-6, Future Leader's Training Camp. All teenage young men ages 13-18 (7th-12th grade) are invited to Washington Avenue Future Minister's Camp in Evansville, Indiana. Preaching, teaching, and leadership within the church will be the focus of this camp. Applications will be accepted through June 23. The camp is limited to 25 campers. For more info, take a copy of the brochure at the Welcome Center.

Shults-Lewis Commodity Drive. June 22, is our goal date to collect canned veggies: corn, lima beans, green beans, carrots, peas, etc. Gerald Frump will bring the van for pick-up of our donations the week of June 22. Bring your items and place them on the pew in the foyer. Mark your bag for Shults-Lewis. Also, we are still collecting your used ink cartridges and old cell phones for Shults-Lewis: these are turned in for cash.

Wedding. Sarah Robbins and Eric Nichols will wed on August 2, 2008. They are registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Wal-Mart stores.

Palmer Elementary School Out-reach. Volunteers are always needed to tutor children that need the extra help in the kindergarten classes at Palmer Elementary school. Many of these children come from disadvantaged homes. Also, we are collecting items to have on-hand in both kindergarten classes. There is a need for new underwear, socks and sweatpants for children (boys and girls) sizes 4-7. Place your donation in a bag and put it on the pew in the foyer with Mary Trinklein's name on the outside of the bag. See Mary if you can help! Teen Directory for 2008 is Available!
